Eating Disorders
Eating disorders — including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder — carry the highest mortality rate of any mental health condition. Common Symptoms
- Persistent preoccupation with weight, body shape, or food
- Restrictive eating, excessive dieting, or food rules
- Binge eating episodes followed by guilt or shame
- Purging behaviors (vomiting, laxatives, excessive exercise)
- Avoiding meals, social eating, or restaurants
- Significant weight changes or failure to gain expected weight
